There is also a selection of extra-tough bricks and pegs, which require more than one hit to penetrate.Įach board has optional objectives, challenging players to clear orange pegs in a limited number of attempts, or reach a certain score with only one ball. Some boards feature pinball-style bumpers, which make balls bounce all over the place, while others add moving pegs and bricks that can be slowed down by holding a button. While it's true that the abilities are much more powerful this time around, the game evens things up by introducing a number of new and returning obstacles. We especially liked the Yeti power, which freezes the board and pushes pegs into one another, making it easy to eliminate clusters. One rather ghostly ability makes all of the blue pegs transparent, giving you easy access to any previously protected orange pegs, while another ability unleashes a powerful boulder that crashes through every peg and brick in sight. Unlike the original game, which featured largely understated sets of powers, Peggle 2's are much more powerful and visually striking. Scoring big earns additional shots and ramps up the multiplier, while hitting green pegs unlocks special abilities which change based on the playable Peggle Master. It's simple enough for anybody to pick up, but so addictive that nobody will want to put it back down again. In Peggle, players have a limited number of attempts to clear all of the orange pegs and bricks from a board of 100. The sequel adds new levels and abilities, and shinier graphics, without tinkering with the core concepts that made the original such a moreish masterpiece. Like all good puzzle games, Peggle took a simple idea and transformed it into an incredibly addictive gaming experience.

Un très bon travail mis en chantier par Microsoft dès novembre 2015, et qui, 3 ans plus tard, continue de s’étoffer mois après mois, même si je dois avouer que de mon côté, je n’utilise que très rarement (voir même jamais) cette possibilité… Qui parfois est tout simplement la meilleure façon de rejouer à certains jeux, comme Red Dead Redemption qui est en 4K sur Xbox One X via cette rétrocompatibilité !
